   BACKGROUND   

Problem


Many users remain skeptical of Tiktok shop

Ever since TikTok introduced its own shopping culture, they have achieved some degree of success in persuading highly-engaged customers, based on their interests, to buy from their shop through coupons and affordable prices. However, despite this success, of TikTok’s daily users, 30% have used TikTok Shop and 33% haven’t used it yet but are interested.

Goal

How may we introduce a point system to the TikTok shop that compels current and new users to engage more with TikTok shop?

   MARKET RESEARCH   

How are people interacting with Tiktok Shop currently?

Shopper probably noticed that their For You page contains a lot more ads and sponsored product posts.

Tiktok also promote crazy discount coupons for shoppers for them to engage more with Tiktok Shop.

👀 Based on these current user behavior on interacting with TikTok shop, this led us to question

1) how might we integrate the reward system into the most active area of TikTok For you page?

2) There is an audience willing to shop in the app currently or potentially so how can we use the reward system to compel them even more?

We Audited Leading Apps With Reward-Based Feature for Insight

We examined the current reward systems in leading apps to understand how they are designed to encourage consumers to buy more of their products and foster an addictive purchasing experience. My goal with this audit was to understand how the UI flows of other rewards platforms sustained the company to create a cycle of purchasing behavior, taking note of different solutions that could be applied to TikTok Rewards.

The visibility of a progress bar gives customers a sense of moving closer to their goal, thereby inducing their decision to make a more purchase each time.

Different status for more rewards and benefits and exclusivity

Developing TikTok rewards by integrating challenges that resonate with TikTok culture, encouraging  creation, sharing, and influencing purchasing   decisions.

By seamlessly integrating TikTok rewards into the cultural framework and incorporating elements from audits of other prominent reward system platforms, customers will engage actively with TikTok and its rewards program.

Based on the understanding of current TikTok user behavior, we created a user story of Emily to explore her painpoints and situation.

How do we integrate reward system to TikTok?

1) We incorporate multiple coupon pop-ups on the "For You" page to introduce users to our reward system. These pop-ups serve as a way to familiarize users with our reward system, encouraging engagement and participation.

2) TikTok is renowned for its vibrant content creation and sharing community. To enrich this experience, we've seamlessly integrated rewards. By actively engaging with TikTok's shop and sharing content, users can earn points simultaneously. This not only enhances their shopping experience but also rewards them for their active participation on the platform.

2) A continuous shopping cycle enables users to earn more points, doubling their points with consecutive purchases. This incentivizes continued engagement and loyalty within our ecosystem.
